Registration for the Stroke Conference
The Conference early bird fee is $199/person, if registered by January 15, 2010. After January 15, 2010, the registration fee is $225/person. These fees include handout materials, CEU certificate, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks, and daily lunches. A group discount fee, $200/person is available for organizations sending three or more persons (group registrations must be submitted simultaneously for discounted fee to apply). Registration fees do not include lodging which is the responsibility of the participant. A special student registration fee is available at a cost of $99/person (student must provide proof of student status when registering). Multiple discounts do not apply.
Refer to “Four Convenient Ways to Register” on the Registration Form panel for information about enrollment procedures. Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis; some sessions may have class limits. Treasury regulations may permit an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees, travel, meals and lodging) undertaken to maintain or improve professional skills.
Registration for the Nursing Symposium
The Nursing Symposium early bird fee is $65/person if registered by January 15, 2010. After January 15th, the registration fee is $75/person. These fees included CEU certificate and dinner. A group discount fee of $70/person is available for organizations sending three or more persons (group registrations must be submitted simultaneously for the discounted fee to apply). Registration fees do not include lodging which is the responsibility of the participant. A special student registration fee is available at a cost of $35.50/person (student must provide proof of student status when registering). Multiple discounts do not apply.
NOTE: If you are registering for both the conference and the Nursing Symposium, a special “package” rate of $255/person applies.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations received after January 15, 2010, are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Refunds will not be granted after the program has begun. A substitute participant may be designated in place of a registrant who cannot attend. The University of Alabama reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine class sections; to limit registration; or to change instructors. Any money-back guarantee offered on specific programs does not necessarily apply to other programs of The University of Alabama College of Continuing Studies.
Location and Lodging
The "Stroke Systems of Patient Care - the Entire Continuum" Conference and Nursing Symposium will be held in the Bryant Conference Center, a premier learning facility located on The University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa.
Suggested lodging sites: Hotel Capstone (formerly Four Points Hotel), adjacent to the Bryant Center (205) 752-3200; Hampton Inn (one mile from the program site) (205) 553-9800; Holiday Inn Express (205) 464-4000. Please identify yourself as a program participant when making your reservations. Room blocks will be available until December 29, 2009. At your request, you will receive contact information for more lodging opportunities.
Parking
From I 20/59, take the McFarland Boulevard/US 82 exit and proceed north to the University Boulevard interchange. Exit and turn right. Stay on University Boulevard down the hill and turn left on Second Avenue. Open parking will be on your left and the Bryant Conference Center complex on your right. In addition to the parking lot on Second Avenue, parking is also available in the Coleman Coliseum Parking Lot, the Bryant Drive Parking Lot, and the new Soccer Field Parking Lot adjacent to University Boulevard. You will be able to ride a Green Route bus from either of these lots to Second Avenue at the Bryant Conference Center. Registered participants will receive upon registration confirmation, a Parking Permit to be displayed inside the vehicle windshield. In the event the Parking Permit is not received prior to parking (in lots mentioned), please call 1-866-432-2015.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Certificates
The Conference awards 1.275 (12 & 3/4 sixty-minute contact hours) for full attendance. Certificates will be made available after the last session of each day. CEU certificates will include the following: National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC #3000); and Alabama State Board of Nursing, Provider #ABNPO222; American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, Provider
# 5-68. The Nursing Symposium awards .325 for full attendance. Certificates will be made available after the symposium.
